Walleye bite continues to be excellent

Writer's picture: Pat BurchPat Burch

Over the last week a lot of the walleyes have moved out to the mid lake structures. Gravel bars and mud flats have piles of fish on them. On the windy days the live bait rigging or pulling spinners has been good and the calm days bobber fishing has been good. In fact some of our craziest fast action is happening at noom time when it's flat calm. 40-60 walleyes a day in the boat was very common over the last week. We arr also picking up a few nice Jumbo perch each day as well. The smallmouth bass fishing has been pretty good too. They are now done spawning and have moved into their normal summer rock pile areas. We have caught most of them over the last few days using ned rigs in 6-10ft of water
