Additionally, cloudy or windy days can enhance fishing success. Mille lacs is unique in its vast amount of bug hatches that happen through-out the heat of the summer. The bugs will hatch up from the soft bottoms of the mud flats and float up through the water column in the late afternoons making walleye fishing a bit tougher during those hot late July - August dog days of summer.
