Well after a long and busy fall season, full of duck hunting, pheasant and grouse hunting and deer hunting, its getting to be time to start thinking about the upcoming Ice fishing season. The walleye fishing season on Mille Lacs will open Friday, Dec. 1, with no bait restrictions and a limit of one walleye 20-22 inches or one longer than 28 inches. I would expect the ice fishing this year to be absolutely fantastic. Be careful out there as Mille Lacs is a very big lake and does not freeze over as quickly as many of the other smaller lakes in central Minnesota. Generally speaking, most years Ice fishing gets going into full swing just after the Christmas Holidays.
